This semester has started off relatively slow due to the bad weather, however my classes are in full swing and occupying a great deal of my time. This semester I am taking Intro to meteorology and climatology, critical thinking, flight physiology, advanced aircraft systems, as well as a lab for meteorology. Having a full class schedule has kept me busy during these slow winter months, and the little to no flying. I am really excited to be taking a class on meteorology because I feel that it is very accurately preparing me for my future as a professional pilot, and knowing how whether forms and changes is always valuable information to know. I am also really excited to take the class, flight physiology since part of the class involves testing your body in the high altitude chamber that we have at KBTL. This high altitude chamber puts you in a scenario in which you are unpressurised, and it puts your body in a form of oxygen depletion. I am really excited for this part of the class and I feel like it is also something that is really important to know, and really important to understand the dangers associated with high altitude flying and rapid cabin depressurization. Unfortunately I had another week of low ceilings, and icing conditions, which prevented me from flying for the entire week. We are going to keep trying to get up and complete the necessary lessons that are needed for me to complete the transition course and move onto my instrument instruction. I will keep you updated on the following week and hopefully I will get to fly!
