After a rewarding, fun, and WARM spring break, I am back in Kalamazoo, MI and ready to get back to flying at WMU! This week we are planning on flying one time throughout the week to better prepare me for the check ride that I have coming up in the next few weeks. Usually at WMU it takes roughly 10 days to complete the check after it has been scheduled. Our plan is to fly once this week and then schedule our check, once it is scheduled we will fly one more time before the day of the check ride. Although you can't really count on the weather working in your favor, it is nice to have a plan in place for me to finish the transition course at WMU! This upcoming week as well as next week are looking very promising in terms of weather, and it is vey exciting to see the weather turning from winter to spring very slowly. This past weekend while in Naples, FL, I was able to stop by the Naples Executive Airport (KAPF) and do some plane watching. They have set up an area there that is a shaded "deck" area that you can have a great view of landing and departing jets. This is one of my favorite airports that I have been to, and it is busy enough on the weekends to see a constant flow of jet travel, usually business and private jets. I hope all pilots get to visit this airport at some point since it has the best view in my opinion of these jets. I am looking to continue my career after WMU in the realm of corporate aviation, so to see business and private jets flying in and out of this airport, it is right up my ally.
