This upcoming week is the week that I have been training and preparing for since the start of this school year. This week is my check which I have to pass in order to move onto the instrument portion of the flight program. I am really nervous for this check, but I am also really excited to get it over with and move on to instrument flight.

This check will consist of an oral exam, covering a lot of the ground information. Then we will undergo a cross country followed by a diversion into a nearby airport. We will work on short field landings, and pattern work. After that, we will head to a practice area and work on power on stalls, power off stalls, steep turns, and doing all of them safely and efficiently. After performing all of the necessary maneuvers, we will head back to KBTL.

Hopefully I will be consistent in all of these areas and I will be able to pass the checkride. The weather right now does not look very good, so we would do the oral exam and then discontinue the flight portion due to weather in the case of poor conditions, however the weather in Michigan can change on a dime so you never really know. I hope next week I will have good news to write about... a passed check ride!
