This past week was a much needed, and fun break. I got to fly last week Tuesday and it was a great flight. We started on our way up to Grand Rapids International Airport, (KGRR) and then we diverted to Hastings Municipal Airport (9D9). The diversion is to simulate unknown weather conditions above KGRR and simulate diverting to another airport and doing it in a timely manner. After the diversion we continued to one of Westerns practice areas and we worked on maneuvers. These maneuvers consisted of steep turns, power on and power off stalls, slow flight, and emergency situations. Transitioning to the Cirrus SR20 has been a huge change for me coming from a Cessna 150, but I am starting to make a lot of progress and my control of the aircraft is starting to advance enough to prepare for my lesson 10.

The countdown to Christmas break has begun and we are in the homestretch! Although breaks mean no flying there is just nothing like being at home and seeing my friends that are also home from college. we have two full weeks of normal class and then one week of final exams before Christmas break, and my final exam week shouldn't be very long. My goal is to be done with the Transition course before we go to break and I believe that it is possible. As long as the weather holds off and we can continue to fly, which it looks like it should. Lets hope for another full week of flying ahead of us!
